Class Descriptions

Tiny Tots
This class is for the young dancers. Your child will learn rhythm and creative movement in a fun and creative atmosphere.

Tiny Tot Ballet/Tap
This class combines the beginning basics of ballet and tap. Students will be introduced to steps, terminology and create a solid base for continued dance studies in an age appropriate way.

Baby Ballet
Finally! A class for the toddler ballerina! The basics of ballet will be taught, proper French terminology is used and correct technique is emphasized in an age appropriate way.

Pre Ballet
This class is designed for beginning ballet and movement students. Students will concentrate on rhythm, posture, coordination and flexibility skills. Studies of terminology and technique will be built upon.

Ballet 1a
This class is an introduction to the fundamentals of classical ballet focusing on the development of technique, proper alignment, flexibility, and strength. Class time will focus on proper barre work to build a solid foundation for floor exercises, turns, jumps and combinations that incorporate all aspects of classical ballet.

*Ballet I
This class is designed for intermediate ballet and movement students. Students will concentrate on rhythm, posture, coordination, balance, and flexibility. Additional terminology and definitions will be presented. Class time will focus on proper barre work to build a solid foundation for floor exercises, turns, jumps and combinations that incorporate all aspects of classical ballet.

*Ballet II
This class builds on intermediate/advanced fundamentals of classical ballet focusing on the development of technique, proper alignment, flexibility, and strength. Class time will focus on a more advanced barre routine with emphasis on proper positioning, balance, control and style. Class will include more advanced floor exercises, turns, jumps and combinations that incorporate all aspects of ballet. Higher level of understanding of the proper terminology and definitions will also be presented.


*Ballet III
This class will focus on the development of advanced classical ballet. Technique, proper alignment, flexibility, positioning, balance, control, style and strength will be focused on. Fluent understanding of proper terminology and definitions is required for this class.

*Ballet IV / Pre Pointe
Students will be introduced to the proper Pointe technique. Class time will focus on barre work on Pointe while focusing on the development of technique, proper alignment, flexibility and strength. Advanced barre routines will incorporate emphasis on proper positioning, balance, control, strength building exercises and style. Class will include beginning level floor exercises with Pointe work, turns and combinations that incorporate all aspects of classical ballet. Fluent understanding of proper terminology and definitions is required for this class. Advanced level of technique, strength and control is needed for this class.

*Pointe
Students will expand on their strength and technique of dancing en pointe. This class emphasizes body control and students spend the entire class time perfecting their pointe work.

Ballet/Jazz/Contemporary
This combination class is designed for beginners. A little ballet, a little jazz, a little contemporary and a lot of fun! Students learn the basics of each genre.

Tiny Tot Hip Hop
Students will learn isolation technique, pop lock, break dance, stunt and tumble in this high-energy style! They will learn rhythm and the skills needed to dance to hip hop beats while developing motor skills and coordination! Age appropriate movements and music will be used!

Hip Hop
Learn how to break dance, stunt, pop lock, and isolation techniques with this modern style of dance. The goal of this class is to make the student self-confident while dancing and have fun!

Hip Hop 1
Come Dance With Me has brought talented and dedicated teachers to help you pop, lock and drop like a true urban dancer.  Come and have some fun and don’t forget it’s a great workout too!
 
Hip Hop 2
This class is for new dancers who are at least 10 years old or younger dancers with hip hop experience. Learn the newest technique with the hottest of music.  A newly choreographed dance will be taught and mastered by the end of the session.

Advanced Hip Hop
For those who have taken Hip Hop 1/2 or have some experience. This class will focus on form, techniques and routines.  After this class you’ll be ready to hit the floor at any dance!

Break dancing
This class starts with a basic foundation of learning different techniques such as six steps, top rocks, up rocks, poses, and power moves. Before jumping into power moves such as windmills, flares, scissor kicks, elbow poses, and inverts we begin building up strength and balance to have the physical ability to perform these moves. Break dancing is a great tool to have for free styling, strength core and balance training, discover new talents and abilities that you thought your body could never do.

*Dance Tech
This class teaches tricks, turns, jumps, and splits. A perfect class for dancers who want to improve their skills and learn more complicated steps.

Beg Contemporary
Contemporary incorporates ballet, jazz, modern, and lyrical styles into one amazing genre of dance. This dance focuses on organic movement and expression of feelings as seen on the popular show “So You Think You Can Dance”.

*Adv. Contemporary
For the more advanced contemporary dancer. Students should have a mastering of the technique and basics of jazz, ballet, modern, and lyrical.

Modern
This genre is for those dancers interested in a not so stringent style of dance. Modern allows dancers to be truly creative. This dance focuses on body control and muscle strength.

Pre-Tap
This class is designed for beginning tap students. Students will concentrate on rhythm, posture, and coordination. Tap terminology and technique will be taught.

Beg. Tap (kids)/Adult Beg. Tap
This class is an introduction to the fundamentals of tap dance. Beginning with the development of basis steps, body positioning, foot control and coordination, this class will introduce technique proper alignment, flexibility and arm movement. Introduction to the proper terminology and definitions will also be presented.

Tap 1
Class time will focus on proper foot movement; tap sounds, balance, rhythm and counting. Students will also be introduced to time steps, floor combinations, traveling steps and basic tap turns. Additional terminology will also be presented.

Tap II
This class will review the fundamentals of tap dance. Increased development of basic steps, body positioning, foot control, and coordination will be presented. Class will introduce intermediate technique, proper alignment, flexibility, and arm movements. An advanced focus on proper foot movement, tap sounds, balance, rhythm and counting will be presented. Students will also be introduced to advanced time steps; foot work, floor combinations, traveling steps and intermediate tap turns. Advanced terminology and definitions will also be presented.

*Tap III
This class incorporates the previously taught fundamentals of tap dance. Advanced steps, body positioning, foot control and coordination will be presented. Class will master the intermediate technique, proper alignment, flexibility and arm movements. An advanced focus on proper foot movement, tap sounds, balance, rhythm and endurance will be presented. Students will also be introduced to advanced time steps, floor combinations, traveling steps and advanced tap turns. Advanced terminology and definitions will also be presented.

Tap/Jazz I/II
A combined class for the beginning to intermediate tap/jazz student. Basics of each genre are reviewed and new steps and terminology are introduced. Best for the “in-between” dancer who is still trying both. 

Beginning Jazz / Tap
Fundamentals of beginning jazz with emphasis on flexibility, coordination, center routines and incorporating ballet basics. Beginning Tap will introduce basic steps along with center and across-the-floor routines. A great class for the beginning dancer. A little jazz, a little tap, a lot of fun.

Intermediate Jazz
This class is for the dancer who has had prior experience. They will continue to focus on the fundamentals of Jazz including proper alignment, strength and more advanced routines. This class will also focus on flexibility, turns and leaps.

*JazzIII
This class is for the dancer who has had prior experience. They will continue to focus on the fundamentals of Jazz including proper alignment, strength and more advanced routines. This class will also focus on flexibility, turns and leaps.

Tumble & Play (Mommy & Me)
Gymnastics basics for both parent and child, with the help of the parent, students will develop motor skills, climbing, balancing, and much more!

Music and Instruments (Mommy & Me)
Parents participate with your children and explore the wonderful world of musical instruments.  Learn to use instruments like the drums, shakers, and tambourine with your child each week.

Musical Theatre (Mommy & Me)
Have a blast with your little one in this song filled class. You and your child will move, sing, and dance together, build friendships, and develop motor skills. By the end of the class you will be singing show tunes all the way home.  Parent participation required.

Mommy & Me (Dance)
A class for the toddler who wants to dance! The basics of movement and dance are taught. Parent participation is required

Mommy & Me (Gymnastics)
Develop motor skills while building strength, flexibility, and confidence. Use our gymnastics equipment to tumble, climb, and jump!

Kindergym
Learn and improve on the basics of gymnastics. Kids have fun rolling, climbing, jumping and using the soft, age appropriate gymnastics equipment all by their selves.

Children’s Choir/Kids Chorus
Learn how to use your vocal instrument through these group lessons.  Students will learn breathing techniques, singing exercises and fun songs to entertain their friends and family with. Learn how to sing in harmony as a group and learn the fundamentals of voice, pitch, diction and stage presence.

School Age Acting 
Learn how to move on stage and have the confidence to learn staging and theater movement as well as projection and voice. Each session children will learn to do a different short play or monologue.

Musical Theatre/Musical Theater I
Be a triple-threat, as musical theatre combines singing, dancing, and acting! At the end of the session, children will be more confident and understand the nature of theater and performing.

Musical Theater II
For the more advanced musical theater student. This class concentrates on singing, dancing, acting and performing arts theory. Build confidence and polish performing skills and audition pieces.
