Q: Why is CDWM housed in recreation centers?
A: Owner/Artistic Director Paula Duffy has a background in education and believes every child should have the opportunity to perform and learn about the arts regardless of physical, mental, or financial ability. Our programs are inclusive and through the recreation departments CDWM is more accessible to children who otherwise would not be able to take part in a performing arts program. CDWM continually gives scholarships to underprivileged children in the community.
CDWM prides itself on having remarkable instructors who share in this vision of bringing professional training to our local children. Our instructors are professionals from around the Sacramento and Bay Area whose credits include dancing with The Julliard School, The Sacramento Ballet, and being represented by some of the top agents in the industry.
Q: What if a class is canceled?
A: A class will only be canceled if the minimum amount of enrolled students is not met. If your child is enrolled in a canceled class you will be contacted by CDWM or a recreation staff member regarding this matter.
Q: If my child’s class is canceled can I enroll them in another class? What if my child does not like a class?
A: Yes! CDWM offers an array of classes that your child might like. Please contact your local recreation department’s office and they can easily enroll your child in another class and transfer your payment.
If your child is not satisfied with our class you may receive a refund, however payment for the class they took will be subtracted from the refunded amount.
Q: How does my child advance to the next class level?
A: CDWM ‘s sessions are ongoing and only those who have taken multiple consecutive sessions will advance to the next level.
Q: Does CDWM do make-up classes?
A: CDWM does not give make-up classes. The only way a class will be made up is if a class is missed due to a CDWM error.
Q: What other programs do you offer?
A: CDWM produces two productions a year. “Nutcracker” (Winter) and “ Broadway in the Foothills” (Spring). Our productions are inclusive and every child receives a part regardless of being enrolled in our program or having performing experience. CDWM also offers an array of musical theater and dance summer camps as well as workshops featuring guest artists from The Julliard School, Sacramento Ballet, New York and the Bay Area.
